Status update: University of Edinburgh

razada7

I've been terrible at updating this blog these past five months, because my calendar has been packed, and I've been scuttling around!

I suppose the big news -- which is reflected on the homepage of my website -- is that I have started a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Edinburgh School of Law for the research project Reversing the Gaze. I'm still mostly based in London when I'm in the UK, but I spend a few days in Edinburgh every few weeks. (I'm also still with Ateneo de Manila, but I have a year of teaching release.)

Woman smiling in front of historic stone building on a street. Blue sky above, mood is cheerful. Another person in the background.
Thrilled to be working in this beautiful building (Old College).

To kick off my fellowship (after initial Zoom meetings with teammates in our work package), I attended the project conference at the University of Basel last September.

Smiling person with a badge in a brown top by a window, overlooking a river and a bridge. Bright, daylight setting.
First time visit Basel!

Since then, though, I've been doing archival work around both Manila and the, UK, which I'll talk about in a different post.

It's been an intellectually stimulating last few months, and I feel very fortunate to be on this project!
